WOMENS GOLF ON SHOW

Laura Davies - winner of The Womens Australian Open 2009

Golfer Laura Davies Laura Davies

The Australian Womens Open has just finished at Metropolitan Golf Club with Laura Davies powering her way to a one shot victory over Spanish player, Tania Elosegui. It was a sad finish for Tania who 3 putted the last for a double bogey after coming up short in the front bunker on the 18th hole. However Laura Davies played spectacular golf and had all who watched amazed at her power and touch combined and still special at 45 years of age.

SPECIAL VIP GUESTS to THE DUNES

Shiho Oyama and Peter Croker                                Bob and Tristan Brown, Shiho, Dean Herden, and Michael

USA LPGA in HAWAII

Shiho Oyama started her rookie year on the USA LPGA Tour  in Hawaii at Turtle Bay Country Club in the first LPGA Tour Event for 2009.

Shiho ran tied 50th – her short game was her strong suit and she said she was very happy with her pitching that she trained so much on here at The Dunes in January. Dean Herden talked to me just after round two when Shiho had made the cut and mentioned how pleased they were to have been at The Dunes and learned much about the short game while here.

The real winner in Hawaii was womens golf with both the winning performance of Angela Stanford and the comeback of Michelle Wie, teenage sensation, who has been the centre of so much media attention over the past several years.

Angela Stanford – winner SBS OPEN Turtle Bay, Hawaii

“So maybe that was some of it, that I didn't have high expectations and I knew there were things that I need to keep working on. So really I'm quite surprised.

As for the way it's been going, I know I say this over and over and over, but I'm just having so much fun. I mean, every time I work with Mike at home, I mean, it's he always has something goofy that we're doing or, I mean, he's making it really fun right now.

But I'm just starting to understand how to hit the golf ball, and, you know, why it does what it does and how do I make it do this, and how do I make it do that. And I feel like the last month, I don't know, I just feel like a kid again just hitting the ball and having fun. And, I don't know, it's been quite a ride.”

JAPAN LONG DRIVE CHAMPION visits The DUNES

Peter with Katsu and Yutaro at The Dunes

Katsu Kodama, Japan Long Drive Champion in 2007 visited the Dunes with his friends, Kei Iwasaki and Yutaro Sato in February and were most impressed with both the golf course layout and the great conditions of the greens, and fairways.

Katsu hit the winning drive 401 yards (366 Metres) when he won in 2007 the Japan Long Drive Championship.

Katsu was very interested in how to bring more control to his shots as he was wanting to play the Japan PGA Tour and needed more control over his short shots in particular. The Croker Golf System was introduced to him and instantly his control over the clubhead was evident.

   GOLF TIP OF THE WEEK

The chip and run shot is still a most important shot not only for saving shots around the green, but also for forming the foundation of the pitch and full swing.

Now we will look at the "Takeaway phase" of the swing - the start of the backswing motion.

It is through precise motion of hands, arms, and body that we develop the educated hands that control the arm and body motion to swing the club back.

Please study the video download on YouTube to help you build your own best start to the chip shot motion.

Over the next weeks we will add to your understanding and ability to play the chip shot with feel and solid contact on a consistent basis. If this is too long for you to wait and you would like the full detail to build your own best swing, then you should visit: http://www.crokergolfsystem.com/stepProgram.htm to purchase the complete Online Program.

Putting, Bunkers, Pitching, and Full Swing are also available via Online Video Downloads.

CROKER GOLF SYSTEM MAJOR CONCEPTS

Over the following weeks I would like to share the main Concepts that underpin the CROKER GOLF SYSTEM. When you understand these Concepts you play above the mechanics sooner than without them.

SPECIAL MESSAGES repeated

To continue on with this attitude building for on and off the golf course please ponder on the following:

1. It is much better to plan and work on your "Set-Up" and this lessens your chance to get "Upset."

2. To bring control to your golf swing and game and much more you need to know how to start, change, and stop your actions.

3. Being in the "NOW" is the only place to play your best golf. Building a quality "rhythm" is an entrance point.
